Banga Bharati, founded in 1974 by the Bengali community of Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, is a socio-cultural organization dedicated to promoting Bengali culture, literature, and traditions. The organization’s first activity was Kali Puja, inaugurated by the late Anna Saheb Magar, the first Mayor of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. As Banga Bharati marks its 51st year, we fondly remember our stalwart founders who laid the foundation for this vibrant community. While some of our founding members have passed away, their legacy continues through the active involvement of those still guiding our organizational activities.
Beyond cultural events like Durga Puja, Kali Puja, and Saraswati Puja, Banga Bharati organizes national celebrations, sports events, picnics, and community welfare initiatives. The organization is managed by various committees, including the Trustee Committee, which provides welfare benefits such as group insurance and financial assistance, and the Kali Mandir Committee, which oversees the temple's religious activities. Banga Bharati remains committed to fostering community spirit and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Bengalis in Pune.
